Abstract: Culture plays an important role in language study. We should lay emphasis on cultivating culture awareness during English study. Language is both a part and carrier of culture. This paper presents culture differences between the Chinese and the Western especially in communication aspect. The importance of cross-cultural awareness is analyzed by many examples.
